Psalms 78:56-64

56 Yet they ^{▼▼ Or put to the test
,} ^btempted and ^crebelled against the Most High God
And did not keep His testimonies,
57 But turned back and ^dacted treacherously like their fathers;
They ^eturned aside like a treacherous bow.
58 For they ^fprovoked Him with their ^ghigh places
And ^haroused His jealousy with their ⁱgraven images.
59 When God heard, He ^{▼▼ Or became infuriated}was filled with ^kwrath
And greatly ^labhorred Israel;
60 So that He ^mabandoned the ⁿdwelling place at Shiloh,
The tent ^{▼▼ Some ancient versions read where He dwelt}which He had pitched among men,
61 And gave up His ^pstrength to captivity
And His glory ^qinto the hand of the adversary.
62 He also ^rdelivered His people to the sword,
And ^{▼▼ Or became infuriated}was filled with wrath at His inheritance.
63 ^tFire devoured ^{▼▼ Or their}His young men,
And ^{▼▼ Or their}His ^wvirgins had no wedding songs.
64 ^{▼▼ Or their}His ^ypriests fell by the sword,
And ^{▼▼ Or their}His ^aawidows could not weep.
